Our School Day
The school day starts at 8.40am and finishes at 3.05pm. Registration is from 8.40am to 8.50am.
Assemblies are held throughout the week.
On a Monday afternoon we celebrate children's 'Attendance', occasionally on a Wednesday morning we have a 'Guest Speaker', on a Thursday morning we have a 'Signing Assembly' and then we finish the week with a 'Celebration Assembly', where class teachers announce 'Pupil/Writer/Role Model of the Week'. The Head Teacher begins the week by promoting the 'Word of the Week' and introduces a composer and weekly music theme. Class and individual attendance awards are announced.
Children have a break from 10.45am – 11.00am, healthy tuck is available at a small charge.
Lunch begins at 12.10pm and ends at 1.10pm. There is a daily time table for each year to be able to play on the new 'Pirate Ship'.
Drop-off and collection
At the beginning and end of the school day, a senior member of staff is available to speak to parents this helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents.
Getting to school
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have a lockable bike shed. The school actively promotes walking or biking to school and there are a number of competitions/initiatives throughout the year. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely.
