Summer Term 2016 - The children in Year 6 have been developing their cooking skills by making an Asian curry in a slow cooker. The children had to write a recipe to accompany their dish and enjoyed an afternoon of tasting each-others work! Mrs Moores was very impressed with their culinary skills.
Spring Term 2016 - The children have enjoyed revising "Light and how we see" unit during Science. Year 6 have been asked to prove light travels in straight lines and to explain what happens to a shadow in relation to the light source. For example, what will happen to the shadow if it is further away from the light source? Here are some pictures of the children experimenting.
Spring Term 2016 - The children in 6M have just started their next learning journey on writing stories with flashbacks. The children enjoyed showing their narrative skills during a writing session. Here are some examples from Kloe, Arthika, Aiden and Harley.
Autumn Term 2015
The children in Year 6, as part of their study of World War Two, have been learning to Jive. They have perfected a routine to "Jailhouse Rock" by Elvis Presley and "Dance with me Tonight" by Oli Murs. The children have really enjoyed learning the basic steps and routines. I'm sure they would love to show you at home !
The children went to Duxford to learn more about the Battle of Britain. They were given the opportunity to wear hats, to get into role as the various job roles from the Battle of Britain. The children enjoyed looking at the various artefacts and especially the Spitfires and the tanks. Year 6 were extremely well behaved and a real credit to the school.
